Two people die after small plane crashes in Arizona

PHOENIX — Two people were killed Tuesday when the small plane they were flying in crashed in Arizona, officials said.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said the small plane took off from Buckeye Airport about 8 a.m. and was scheduled to return about 10 a.m.
The plane was reported missing and a search and rescue team found the wreckage about 4:40 p.m. in the Gila Bend Mountains, about 35 miles southwest of the Phoenix metro area.
Officials have not identified the victims, but the Buckeye Airport said its airport coordinator, John McMahon, was one of the victims.
In a post, the airport said McMahon was survived by a wife and three children. He was the airport’s only employee.
