2 Alaska girls injured by stampeding moose

May 29, 2012, 3:16 PM

EAGLE RIVER, Alaska (AP) – Police in Alaska say two girls playing in the street were injured when they were stomped by a moose.

The Anchorage Daily News (

Police spokesman Dave Parker says the 6-year-old was severely stomped on her back and arm. He says the older girl was struck by the collapsing playground equipment, and was treated and released at the scene.

Parker says neighbors suspect the same moose had raised calves in the neighborhood in the past.
