PHOENIX — An Arizona woman has become quite the celebrity in Los Angeles, but she’s not appearing in the next Hollywood blockbuster.
Betty True, better known as the Rally Granny in the Golden State, rose to fame after she lifted her shirt on the videoboard at a Dodgers game July 8.

The Fort Mohave resident told the Los Angeles Times she was just having some fun when she showed her white bra to the crowd and had no idea it would make her a star.
“At first when I saw I myself on the big screen, I was waving my arms and I thought, oh no, that’s going to show my underarm dangle,” Betty recalled. “So then I went into my cruising moves, and they kept the cameras on me, and I thought, well, they’re asking for it now.”
True said she was swarmed in the concourse later by fans who wanted to take a selfie. She was christened the Rally Granny by first baseman and Phoenix-area native Cody Bellinger.
Since that day, True — a California native — has been featured on shirts and the team has asked her to let it know when she attends a game so they can put her up on the big screen.

True said she’s always been known to be a little wild, as was her late husband, Mark.
“He was a party boy, he encouraged me to party, we just had a ball, an absolute ball, I miss him so much,” she said. “I’m just trying to live up to our reputation.”
The Rally Granny said she planned to leave Arizona soon to be closer to family in Fresno, but she hoped to make it to a few more games this season.
