Prescott’s Christmas Eve snowstorm in 30 seconds

Many parts of northern Arizona woke up Christmas morning to the sight of a white Christmas. One man in Prescott documented the occasion with a time-lapse video.

In all, Prescott received about eight inches of snow that led to cars sliding on the road and road closures in the northern part of the state on Saturday. Meanwhile, in Flagstaff, residents there enjoyed 10 inches of snow on Christmas Eve, smashing the previous record set in 1914 when the city saw four inches.

As for Phoenix, the Valley saw plenty of wind and rain, with some parts picking up as much as .75 of an inch while south of Goodyear received 0.55 of an inch.

Saturday, the National Weather Service issued a blowing dust advisory for the area between Phoenix and Casa Grande. Wind gusts in Casa Grande reached 41 mph, while parts of the Valley saw winds clocked at 21-25 mphs.
