PHOENIX — Just after being named one of the most sinful cities in America, it turns out that a certain place in Arizona has another side too.
Scottsdale was named the 11th most caring city in the country, after recently being named the 15th most sinful city in the United States.
WalletHub conducted the study, and considered the places with the most “compassionate spirit” among the 100 most populated cities.
The categories under consideration were the percentage of residents doing favors for neighbors, the percentage of income donated to charity, the most volunteering hours per capita, the percentage of workers who carpool, the percentage of sheltered homeless people, the child poverty rate, the student-teacher ratio and the amount of residents working in community and social services per capita.
Although Scottsdale wasn’t ranked in the top five of any certain category, other Arizona cities got noticed for special things.
Gilbert, who earned a 17th overall ranking, has the second lowest poverty rate. Glendale, who was named as the 71st most caring city in the nation, has the third highest percentage of workers who carpool.
Chandler (26), Mesa (44), Tucson (68) and Phoenix (82) were the other Arizona cities to crack the top 100.
The most caring city in the United States was tabbed as Madison, Wisconsin.
