Main Street Minute: School district hiring, casino starts renovation construction

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday at 7:23 a.m.

• Riverside Elementary School District is hosting a job fair Thursday. It runs from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the district’s west Phoenix office near 51st Avenue and Buckeye Road. They’re looking for second-through-eighth grade teachers as well as bus drivers.

• Dozens of jobs in fields including clinical research, education and solar are up for grabs at a hiring event Thursday in the West Valley. It runs from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Renaissance Glendale Hotel and Spa at Westgate. Dress professionally, bring resumes and prepare to meet with hiring managers.

• The Ak-Chin Indian Community just broke ground on phase one of a multimillion-dollar expansion at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino. The expansion will include a spa, conference center, parking garage and over 200 rooms.
