Del. doctor appeals young patient rape conviction

Mar 15, 2012, 1:40 AM

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) – The former pediatrician who was convicted last year of raping young patients has filed an appeal to the Delaware Supreme Court.

In the appeal, filed March 5, Dr. Earl Bradley’s public defenders say that Delaware State Police searched places at the physician’s office that were not listed on a search warrant. The search turned up video evidence of Bradley molesting children.

The Delaware Attorney General’s Office declined to comment. Prosecutors must file a response by April 4.

Last year, Bradley was sentenced to 14 life sentences without parole for 14 counts of first-degree rape. He also was sentenced to more than 160 years in prison for multiple counts of assault and sexual exploitation of a child.
