Postal Service to stage job fairs across Valley throughout September
The United States Postal Service has intensified its hiring efforts in the greater Phoenix area and throughout Arizona.
The USPS is seeking letter carriers, processing clerks, mechanics and more.
USPS personnel will be on-site to provide detailed information about the positions, answer questions and help potential candidates through the application process.
Dead body found at US 60/Grand Avenue overpass in Phoenix homicide investigation
Authorities identified a dead body at the US 60/Grand Avenue overpass that caused a lengthy closure on Friday.
The Phoenix Police Department said they found Paul Myron, 54, with several gunshot injuries lying in a pedestrian walkway.
Officers responded to an alleged stabbing at approximately 6:20 a.m. and closed the section where US 60/Grand Avenues crosses 35th Avenue and Indian School Road.
Cuban man living in Maricopa sentenced to 3 years in prison for selling counterfeit pills
A legal permanent resident from Cuba, who was living in Maricopa, was sentenced to 3 years in prison for selling counterfeit pills that contained fentanyl, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona.
A U.S. District judge sentenced Dairon Jissan Rodriguez-Escalante, 27, to 33 months in prison and three years of supervised release last week.
On two separate occasions between October and November 2021, Rodriguez-Escalante sold over 650 grams of blue M30 pills that contained fentanyl to agents working for the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and Drug Enforcement Administration.
Firefighters extinguish attic fire at Fry’s supermarket in north Phoenix
Firefighters extinguished a blaze in a north Phoenix supermarket early Saturday.
According to the Phoenix Fire Department, the fire started around 6 a.m. at the Fry’s located at 3511 W. Peoria Ave. in Phoenix.
Firefighters were at a medical call in the area when they noticed smoke coming from the pharmacy side of the store.
Child reportedly dies after being pulled from pool in Phoenix
A 5-year-old child has reportedly died after being pulled from a swimming pool in Phoenix on Friday.
Firefighters were called to a home near the intersection of 99th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road around 7 p.m.
When they arrived, they found family members performing CPR on a child who had fallen into their pool.
Lucky Rose boutique opens at Scottsdale Fashion Square
Shoppers looking to add recent trends to their wardrobes have a new option at Scottsdale Fashion Square mall.
Lucky Rose boutique, which touts itself as “a chic boutique known for its trendsetting fashion,” is staging its grand opening this weekend.
The boutique, which is located on the first level of the mall between Psycho Bunny and Stance, offers a collection of apparel and accessories curated for women ages 18-35.
Goodyear Police arrest man for allegedly pointing a gun at multiple people
An arrest was made by the Goodyear Police Department’s Special Assignment Unit on Thursday in regards to an Arizona man accused of pointing a gun at multiple people, according to authorities.
Jeremiah Barnes, 24, was arrested after being found by police a day after he allegedly committed the aggravated assault.
On Wednesday, Goodyear Police responded to a call near McDowell Road and Pebble Creek Parkway of a suspect pointing a gun at people. Police created a perimeter and searched the area but Barnes had fled the scene before the police arrived.
