Firefighters extinguish attic fire at Fry’s supermarket in north Phoenix

PHOENIX — Firefighters extinguished a blaze in a north Phoenix supermarket early Saturday.

No injuries were reported.

According to the Phoenix Fire Department, the fire started around 6 a.m. at the Fry’s located at 3511 W. Peoria Ave. in Phoenix.

Firefighters were at a medical call in the area when they noticed smoke coming from the pharmacy side of the store.

They headed to the scene and once there found a large fire in the building’s attic space.

Firefighters worked with store management to evacuate the store and extinguished the blaze.

The cause of the fire was not immediately determined.
