Phoenix stabbing victim hospitalized in critical condition, suspect detained

Police said traffic on Indian School Road would be restricted between 27th Avenue and Interstate 17 while the crime scene was under investigation.

Police are investigating after a man was seriously injured in a stabbing Friday morning in Phoenix.

A suspect was detained after the incident near 27th Avenue and Indian School Road, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Police said traffic on Indian School Road would be restricted between 27th Avenue and Interstate 17 for several hours.

Officers responded to an aggravated assault call about 4:20 a.m. and found a man suffering from stab wounds.

Fire department personnel took the victim to the hospital, where he was listed in extremely critical condition.

The suspect was located and detained at a nearby hotel.

According to preliminary information from police, the two men were arguing when the suspect stabbed the victim. There are no outstanding suspects.
