Postal Service to stage job fairs across Valley throughout September

PHOENIX — The United States Postal Service has intensified its hiring efforts in the greater Phoenix area and throughout Arizona.

The USPS is seeking letter carriers, processing clerks, mechanics and more.

In an effort to help job seekers complete hiring profiles and applications, the USPS is planning to stage job fairs in the greater Phoenix area throughout September.

USPS personnel will be on-site to provide detailed information about the positions, answer questions and help potential candidates through the application process.

Starting pay ranges from $18 to $25 per hour, depending on the position.

The following events are scheduled:

  • Burton Barr Central Library in Phoenix
    1221 N. Central Ave., RM Az
    Sept. 5, 12, 19 and 26 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • Harmon Library in Phoenix
    1325 S. 5th Ave.
    Sept. 17 from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.
  • City of Avondale Hiring Fair in Avondale
    11490 W. Civic Center Dr.
    Sept. 18 from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Tolleson City Job Fair, Tolleson Civic Center in Tolleson
    9055 W. Van Buren St.
    Sept. 19 from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Ocotillo Library in Phoenix
    102 W. Southern Ave.
    Sept. 25 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

The USPS also is looking to hire more than 200 mail handler assistants (processing), automotive mechanics, tractor trailer operators, electronics technicians and custodial positions for the Arizona Regional Processing and Distribution Center located in Avondale.

To facilitate that growth, USPS is hosting a series of hiring events at the West Valley Parcel Sorting Annex in Tolleson on Sept. 7, 14 and 21 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
