The Maggiore Group shuts down The Rosticceria in Phoenix, reveals new plans

PHOENIX – The Maggiore Group shut down The Rosticceria in Phoenix for good as the Valley restaurant operator shuffles its deck following a kitchen fire at another location.

The Rosticceria, an Italian concept, officially closed over the weekend less than a year after opening on Tatum Boulevard north of Cactus Road, near the former Paradise Valley Mall site.

The space won’t stay dormant for long, however. The Scottsdale-based restaurant group will open a pop-up version of The Mexicano there on Oct. 15.

The Mexicano’s original location, around the corner on Cactus Road east of Tatum Boulevard, has been closed since being damaged by a kitchen fire in August.

The Mexicano pop-up is expected to operate through the end of the year, when the original location should be ready for its grand reopening.

Chef Joey Maggiore and his team will then transform the former The Rosticceria space into an undisclosed new concept.

What is The Maggiore Group known for?

The Maggiore Group has had a lot on its plate lately. It opened The Italiano, a new Italian concept, in Scottsdale last month, joining Hash Kitchen, The Mexicano, The Sicilian Butcher and The Sicilian Baker on the group’s roster.

In addition, The Mexicano brand is set to grow with a second location coming to the Chandler Fashion Center.

Meanwhile, The Maggiore Group continues to expand its popular Hash Kitchen brunch concept nationwide.

And if that’s not enough, Joey Maggiore just published his first cookbook on Sept. 17. “Brunch King: Eats, Beats, and Boozy Drinks” became the No. 1 new release in Amazon’s brunch and tea cooking category.
