Main Street Minute: Burger chain expanding in metro Phoenix

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday on KTAR at 7:27 a.m.
• A Florida-based burger joint has some big plans for the Phoenix area. The Phoenix Business Journal reported that Rally’s wants to open more than 60 restaurants across phoenix, including 5-to-7 by the end of next year. There are four of the fast-food places in Arizona.
• Robert Redford’s retail chain Sundance is celebrating the grand opening of its first Valley location Thursday. The men’s and women’s shop is at Kierland Commons in Scottsdale. The store is donating a portion of its weekend proceeds to local nonprofit Scottsdale Artists School.
• The Mountain West Preparedness and Emergency Response Learning Center at the University of Arizona’s College of Public Health has received a $1 million federal grant. The money from the Centers for Disease Control supports the move toward a national agenda to improve health security.
