PHOENIX – More heat is coming to Arizona thanks to Dave’s Hot Chicken bringing its first restaurant to the West Valley in 2025.

The restaurant, known for its spicy chicken tenders and sliders, will begin construction of its Goodyear location soon, the city announced on Tuesday.

Dave’s is one of many restaurants set to open its doors at GSQ, Goodyear’s upcoming downtown urban center.

“We are excited to announce Dave’s Hot Chicken coming to GSQ,” Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo said in a press release. “We’re thrilled to welcome this popular eatery with a spectacular following, and we’re happy to add yet another great dining option to our growing downtown District — there will be something for nearly everyone’s taste and wallet.”

The hot chicken eatery began as a hot chicken stand in a parking lot in East Hollywood in 2017. Since its creation it expanded to 237 locations across the country.

The popular restaurant made its first Arizona appearance in 2022 and has added two more restaurants in the Valley, with two other locations in Yuma and Tucson.

“Our expansion into the West Valley is exciting,” Dave’s Hot Chicken Director of Operations James Chavez said. “We’re looking forward to being part of one of the fastest growing cities, not just in Arizona, but in the entire nation and to be able to connect with the community.”

Newcomers to Dave’s can expect chicken tenders and sliders with customizable heat levels, ranging from, no spice, lite mild, mild, medium, hot and extra hot. Their final level of spices, the Reaper, requires the customer to sign a waiver because of its heat. To cool down there are also Oreo, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and M&M shakes.
