SAFE Alert canceled after missing woman found by Mesa Police Department

Authorities canceled a SAFE Alert on Sunday for a missing Phoenix woman after she was found safe by the Mesa Police Department.

Karen King, 71, was last seen in the area of 18th and Campbell avenues when the alert was first issued Oct. 19.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
