Residents are being instructed to leave immediately and move to higher ground. Those needing temporary shelter can go to the Camp Verde Parks and Recreation Gym.

Camp Verde was previously issued an immediate evacuation notice around 2:45 p.m.

Officials are urging residents to avoid flooded roads, washes and low-water crossings. Anyone evacuating should bring essential medications, family members and pets if possible.

Authorities also warned residents never to attempt to cross moving water on foot or in a vehicle and said they should not return to evacuation areas until officials announce it is safe.
