Phoenix police looking for beer run, robbery suspects [RE-BROADCAST OF 9/24/2012]
Apr 3, 2017, 5:00 AM
This wasn’t your typical shoplifting.
On Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at about 9:30 p.m., two guys went into the Circle K near Central Avenue and Dobbins Road to commit a beer run.
“What made this different is one of the suspect was armed with a gun,” Phoenix Police Sgt. Darren Burch said. “He had a gun in his waistband and was standing by the front door, so they turned this beer run into an armed robbery.”
They never pointed the gun at anyone but it was the intimidation factor.

Next, help police catch a serial armed robber. He’s committed at least three in east Phoenix, hitting Family Dollar Stores and 7-11s.
Burch said it’s the same M.O. every time.
“He’s basically just acting like he’s on his cellphone until everyone leaves the store, then he commits his crime.”
He pulls out a black pistol from a bag and demands cash, then he runs out the door. He may have an accomplice because he’s been seen getting into the passenger side of a gray Nissan Sentra with dark-tinted windows.
