Police investigating after man dies days after found with life-threatening injuries in west Phoenix

The Phoenix Police Department identified the deceased man as 73-year-old Stephen Schultz.

A homicide investigation is underway after a man died last week following being found with life-threatening injuries in west Phoenix, authorities.

The Phoenix Police Department identified the deceased man as 73-year-old Stephen Schultz.

On Aug. 4, officers were called to the area of 27th Avenue and Indian School Road around 10 p.m. for reports of an injured man.

When police arrived at the scene, they found Schultz with obvious signs of trauma before he was taken to a nearby hospital.

Schultz died from his injuries at 2 p.m. on Aug. 7, police said.

There have been no arrests made in connection with his death.
