Man dead after robbery turns into shooting in south Phoenix

A man died after being shot during an alleged robbery in south Phoenix on Saturday night, authorities said.

Officers were called to the area of 16th Street and Broadway Road regarding a robbery at gunpoint just before 10 p.m., according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Police were told that a male victim fled on foot after multiple gunshots. He was found dead in the yard of a nearby house around 2 a.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they spoke with two women who were unable to identify a suspect.

Detectives are investigating that fatal south Phoenix shooting.
