A hiker was hospitalized after being rescued from Piestewa Peak in Phoenix on Sunday morning.

PHOENIX — A hiker was hospitalized after being rescued from Piestewa Peak in Phoenix on Sunday morning.
According to the Phoenix Fire Department, rescue crews responded to a call at Piestewa Peak around 7:30 a.m. for reports of an overheated hiker.
Upon arrival, crews found a woman about a quarter of a mile up the trail. They used a big-wheel operation, a stretcher mounted on a single large all-terrain vehicle, to safely remove the woman from the trail.
She was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
All rescue crew members made it safely off the mountain.
