Man in serious condition after being rescued from Camelback Mountain

PHOENIX — A man is in extremely critical condition after being rescued from Camelback Mountain on Saturday, authorities said.

According to the Phoenix Fire Department, rescue crews were called to the Cholla Trailhead on the mountain around 1 p.m. over calls of an adult man experiencing a medical emergency about three-fourths of the way up the Cholla Trail.

Upon arrival, crews were able to hike up the trail and found the man experiencing a “life-threatening medical emergency,” Phoenix fire said.

Authorities said a Phoenix Police Department Firebird helicopter was used to transport the man to a hospital.

No other information was made available.
