Authorities canceled a SAFE Alert on Sunday after the subject, a 67-year-old man reported missing out of Glendale, was reunited with his family.

Michael Barnett was located by Mesa Police and returned home, according to the Glendale Police Department.

When the alert was issued Friday, Barnett was last seen around 6:30 a.m. Thursday driving a gold 2008 Honda Accord with Arizona license plate 5VA230 near 95th and Georgia avenues, north of Camelback Road, according to the alert.

He has a medical condition that can cause him to become lost or easily confused.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
