A caretaker was arrested and charged in the death of a 50-year-old disabled Phoenix man.

PHOENIX — A caretaker was arrested and charged in the death of a 50-year-old disabled Phoenix man, according to authorities.
Nuru Niyonkuru, 36, was charged with one count of vulnerable adult abuse, according to a Tuesday announcement from the Phoenix Police Department
The man who died was identified as William Miller.
Why was caretaker charged of disabled Phoenix man’s death?
Phoenix fire officials responded to a call about an unresponsive man in the area of 20th and State avenues on April 10.
Miller was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died, according to police.
Detectives learned that Niyonkuru was Miller’s caretaker. Police also learned that Miller was disabled and was not cared for properly.
Police are awaiting results from the medical examiner regarding Miller’s death, which could result in Niyonkuru facing additional charges, according to police.
The investigation is ongoing.
