A 16-year-old McDonald's employee was fatally shot Wednesday following an altercation in the bathroom of a Phoenix restaurant, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A 16-year-old McDonald’s employee was fatally shot Wednesday following an altercation in the bathroom of a Phoenix restaurant, authorities said.
Officers were called to the fast food restaurant near 51st Avenue and Baseline Road at about 10:15 a.m. and found the victim, Sgt. Vincent Cole with the Phoenix Police Department said during a press conference.
The victim, later identified as Prince Nedd, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect, who is believed to be male and known to the victim, fled on foot following the shooting, Cole said.
An investigation into the shooting is underway.
