Lockdown lifted for Seattle-area college after reports of shots fired

Officials in a Seattle-area suburb in Washington state lifted a lockdown of Highline Community College after gunshots were reported on campus.
Federal officials said they had found no evidence of a shooter nor any victims but continued to clear the campus.
The lockdown was first ordered around 10 a.m. local time on Friday, and the all-clear was given around noon.

A post on the school’s Facebook warned students and faculty to “lock down all offices and classrooms until further notice.”
Police also warned students to stay away from the campus.

Highline Community College is located in Des Moines, Washington, about 17 minutes south of Seattle. About 17,000 students attend the school, according to KIRO7-TV.
The report comes two days after a 19-year-old allegedly shot and killed 17 people at his former high school in Florida.
