Apache Junction Police Department says an officer has resigned after an investigation into his personal use of Flock camera system
The Apache Junction Police Department says an officer has resigned after an investigation into his personal use of automatic license plate reading camera technology to find his wife.
According to the police department, Officer Joshua McDaniels used the Flock camera system in April amid a personal dispute, which is not in line with the their policies. Police chief Michael Pooley said he supports the technology but argues it should come with safeguards so the community trusts its use.
Pooley added the officer's use of the Flock system has not been referred for criminal investigation because accessing the data is not against state law and argued that should change.
