In what is likely the week’s only sci-fi movie note that has nothing to do with “Star Wars,” there’s a sneak peek photo on the Internet of four women seriously ready to catch a ghost.
The fans at Proton Charging posted Wednesday what is probably the first official image from the “Ghostbusters” reboot, featuring Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy among the leads.
In the movie, Wiig and McCarthy, joined by comedian Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon of “Saturday Night Live,” replace the four guys from the 1984 original.
Back in the spring, the Boston Herald reported that the plot centered on Wiig and McCarthy as long-ago ghost-believing authors. That comes back to haunt’s Wiig’s character, now an instructor at a fancy college.
Her colleagues are all laughing at her until ghosts roll into New York. Yeah, let’s all say it together: Who ya gonna call?
The new film is set for release in July.
And just because this song is still fun 30-plus years later, here’s the cameo-filled video from the original’s best-selling record.
