PHOENIX — A central Arizona high school was temporarily placed on lockdown Monday in response to a bomb threat, authorities said.
The Maricopa Police Department was called to Maricopa High School after the administration building was threatened, school officials said in a online statement.
Staff and students from the administration building and one other building were evacuated to the courtyard while police searched the area.
After the search, authorities determined the bomb threat was “not credible,” according to a statement on the school’s website.
School remained in session, but parents were told they could pick up their children early by reporting to the school office and presenting ID, officials said.
The campus is in the city of Maricopa, which is located in Pinal County, about 35 miles south of downtown Phoenix.
