Newborn found safe in northern AZ after being abducted from West Valley

Police in northern Arizona safely located a newborn baby Saturday after it was abducted from the West Valley, authorities said.

Deputies with the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office found the suspect’s vehicle in Winslow and rescued the 11-day-old from Surprise after receiving an Alert to Locate.

The infant was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution while waiting to be reunited with its mother, authorities said.

“We appreciate the assistance of Arizona DPS and are grateful this incident had a safe outcome,” the sheriff’s office said in a social media post.

Authorities did not provide any information regarding the suspect’s identity or if any arrests were made.
