PHOENIX — While tabulator issues at polling sites across Maricopa County were being fixed Tuesday, officials reminded another option at voting centers is available.
The Door 3 option, which is a secure box that operates similar to dropping off an early ballot, sends ballots to the Maricopa County’s Tabulation and Election Center where it is tabulated under more robust tabulators, Stephen Richer told KTAR News 92.3 FM Gaydos and Chad Show.
The solution comes as dozens of tabulator issues were experienced at polling sites on Election Day.
“If you choose not to do that, then you can go to a different voting location or you can wait until the tabulator came back online, so it will absolutely be counted, I can promise you that,” Richer said.
“It just might have not have been in the way that you originally thought.”
Officials said the printer settings were causing issues with some ballot tabulators, impacting more than a quarter of the county’s vote centers. They also added that the issues didn’t prevent anyone from casting their ballot.
Polls are open until 7 p.m., although the Republican National Committee filed a lawsuit to extend the hours until 10 p.m.
