PHOENIX — A man faces aggravated assault charges after he was seen pointing a gun at skateboarders in a Gilbert church parking lot, police said Friday.
Bernardo Aillon, 68, also faces a charge for possession of a firearm on school grounds, the Gilbert Police Department said in a press release.
The incident happened Sunday in the Compassion Church parking lots near Guadalupe and Lindsay roads.
The skateboarder notified police of the incident and showed them the video on Monday, which led to interviews and authorities seizing Aillon’s weapon.
“The alleged behavior captured in the video is not tolerated in our community,” the department said in the release.
“We appreciate the community’s patience as we gathered the necessary evidence to conclude this investigation.”
