PHOENIX — Abraham Hamadeh leads Rodney Glassman early Wednesday in the primary race to secure the Republican nomination for Arizona attorney general.
Hamadeh had 32% of the votes to 24% for Glassman, according to the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office.
It was an uptick for Hamadeh, who led 29% to Glassman’s 24% after the first drop of results for the election were released Tuesday night.
Hamadeh, a former prosecutor with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, became a front-runner in polling after receiving an endorsement from former President Donald Trump in June.
The former president praised Hamadeh for pushing his baseless claims that the 2020 election was fraudulent.
Hamadeh led a crowded field with five candidates in early July, but pushed that lead to 24 points over closest competitor Glassman in the final OH Predictive Insights poll released last Friday.
The winner will take on Democrat Kris Mayes in the general election to replace term-limited Republican Mark Brnovich.
Mayes ran unopposed in the primary.
