West Valley charter school cleared after evacuation for bomb threat

A Buckeye charter school was evacuated Tuesday morning following a bomb threat, authorities said.

Officers swept the Great Hearts Roosevelt campus and found no threat, according to the Buckeye Police Department.

The K-12 school at 555 S. Jackrabbit Trail, between Van Buren Street and Yuma Road, was evacuated after a caller made statements about a bomb there around 9 a.m.

Police and school officials worked to have the students bussed off site as officers searched the campus.

About two hours after the call, police completed the search and determined there was no threat.

Parents are being asked to check for messages from the school for information about how to pick up their children.
