15-year-old boy fatally shoots 14-year-old while playing with gun in Phoenix

PHOENIX — A 15-year-old boy fatally shot a 14-year-old boy last week while playing with a gun in Phoenix, authorities said Monday.
The shooting occurred near Moreland and 11th streets on May 17 around 11:20 a.m. when the 15-year-old boy accidentally shot the 14-year-old boy, who had been riding in a vehicle, the Phoenix Police Department said in a press release.
The 14-year-old boy was identified as Emir Rivas.
The 15-year-old boy was booked into jail.
An investigation into the shooting was ongoing and there was no additional information available.
