Tipsy Scoop, a self-described “barlour” that specializes in liquor-infused ice cream, begins serving customers in downtown Phoenix on Saturday.
The dessert shop is located near Central Avenue and Van Buren Street and its opening party runs from noon to 1 a.m. It will, of course, feature ice cream as well as drinks and music.
The restaurant was founded in New York City in 2014 and now has franchisees in Washington D.C., Portland, Nashville and the Bahamas. The Phoenix location is owned by Tamika Wooten and her daughter Dominika Cheathem, according to a news release.
The mother-daughter duo decided to open their own Tipsy Scoop after visiting the New York City barlour in 2022.
Customers do have to be 21 and older to enjoy the alcohol-infused ice cream and sorbet. Some of the flavors that they can choose from include Boozy Banana Split, Vanilla Bean Bourbon, Cake Batter Vodka Martini, Spiked Mint Chip, Mango Margarita Sorbet and Raspberry Limoncello Sorbet.
However, the dessert shop does offer kid friendly options as well.
The ice cream barlour is open from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
