PHOENIX—With the Phoenix Zoo reopen to foot traffic, this will be the last weekend of the socially-distanced Cruise the Zoo events.

Cruise the Zoo, which will take place Friday through Sunday, offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy the zoo from the comfort of their cars.

The trail passes by the cheetahs, baboons, mandrills, rhinos, lions, giraffe, zebras, flamingos, tigers, elephants and other exhibits.

Because the event is taking place, the zoo will be closed to foot traffic over the weekend.

Vehicles cannot be larger than 266″ L x 81″ W x 74″ H — about the size of a long bed truck.

Tickets are $50 for members and $65 for the general public. They must be purchased online in advance and the event is expected to sell out, according to the zoo.

A limit of 450 tickets are sold online for each day and can be used starting at 7 a.m., but the last vehicle must be in line by 11 a.m.

The zoo does not have any more Cruise the Zoo events on the calendar at this time.

The Phoenix Zoo reopened to the general public Sept. 19 after closing for a second time in July due to the coronavirus pandemic.

We want to hear from you.
