PHOENIX — Vice President Mike Pence arrived in Arizona on Wednesday afternoon, his third trip to the state this year.
Pence has plans to visit parts of the Valley and southern Arizona during his brief stay, which is expected to last until Thursday evening.
The vice president was scheduled to attend a reception for fellow Republican U.S. Sen. Martha McSally, whose seat is up for election in 2020.
“I’m grateful for him coming out to help,” McSally told KTAR News 92.3 FM’s Mac & Gaydos on Wednesday. “We’ve got a lot at stake.”
On Thursday, Pence will participate in a roundtable discussion with Hispanic leaders at a church in Scottsdale.
After that, he will give remarks on the United States-Mexico-Canada trade agreement in Green Valley near Tucson.
McSally will accompany the vice president in Scottsdale and Green Valley.

Pence was also in the state in March and April.
In his first visit, Pence met with business leaders in Phoenix and also discussed President Donald Trump’s border emergency declaration to free up money to build a wall.
The second time Pence visited, he took a trip to the border with Gov. Doug Ducey.
