SAFE Alert canceled after 18-year-old woman found safely

A SAFE Alert was canceled after an 18-year-old woman was found safely, authorities said.

The Surprise Police Department said that Mariana Magana-Morfin was located and is safe.

When the alert was first issued, Magana-Morfin was seen Tuesday afternoon near the Prasada Shopping Center.

At the time, she was wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and white shoes, while with a Boston terrier puppy, Surprise PD said.

Authorities said she has a medical condition that can leave her disoriented or confused.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
