Phoenix metro area receives overnight rain showers

PHOENIX — Overnight storms dropped more than a quarter inch of rain in parts of the Phoenix metro area early Sunday with more expected through the middle of the day, according to the National Weather Service.
Rain gauges in Paradise Valley, Scottsdale and Mesa received from 0.30 inches to 0.40 inches before sunrise.
Areas of Phoenix all the way west to Glendale also received measurable amounts ofrain.

Sky Harbor Airport recorded 0.15 inches of rain by early Sunday morning as more showers appeared to be headed north into the Valley.
The low overnight reached 50 degrees, while it is not expected to warm up past the mid-60s.

Traces of rain showers stretched from the Sun Lakes area south of the Phoenix area nearly to Anthem north of the Valley.
