Police seek help finding car involved in fatal hit-and-run collision in Phoenix

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department needs the public’s help in its investigation of a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred in Phoenix on Tuesday night.
The crash took place in the area of Camelback Road and 43rd Avenue, north of US 60/Grand Avenue.
Patrol officers responded to the scene around 8:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a collision between a vehicle and a woman.
The calls reporting the incident described the woman as running into the roadway in a possible suicide attempt prior to the crash, police said.
Multiple cars involved in fatal hit-and-run collision in Phoenix
Officers found the woman dead after arriving to the scene of the collision. Her name was not released.
The collision took place while the woman was crossing in the middle of the block, police said.
She was struck by a passenger car driving north on 43rd Avenue. After the collision, the driver immediately fled the scene, police said.
After the original collision, two other vehicles struck the victim. Both of those drivers stayed on the scene and cooperated with Phoenix Police investigators.
No further details were released.
