Tree trimmer stuck 40 feet up a palm tree after equipment malfunction rescued in Phoenix

A professional tree trimmer needed help after an equipment issue left him stranded, 40 feet in the air, on Monday afternoon in Phoenix.

A professional tree trimmer needed help after an equipment issue left him stranded, 40 feet in the air, on Monday afternoon in Phoenix.

Technical rescue crews from Phoenix and Glendale responded near 35th and Northern avenues around 12:15 p.m.

Fire officials said his equipment had malfunctioned, leaving him unable to descend.

The first ladder truck on scene reached the man and brought him safely to the ground without needing specialized rescue equipment.

He was uninjured and declined further treatment.
