Authorities issued a SAFE Alert asking for the public’s help in locating a 75-year-old man who went missing Thursday morning in north Scottsdale.

Canko Makarijoski was last seen on foot around 6:15 a.m. near 100th Street and Thompson Peak Parkway, authorities said.

Makarijoski is described as 5-foot, 5 inches tall and 175 pounds, with brown eyes and white hair.

He was last seen wearing khaki shorts, blue shoes and a blue ball cap.

Police said Makarijoski suffers from a medical condition that may cause him to become lost or easily confused.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the Scottsdale Police Department at 480-312-5000 or 911.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
