Hazmat crews contained an ammonia leak at Shamrock Farms in Phoenix on Monday, authorities said.

Crews were called to the facility on the west side of Interstate 17 (Black Canyon Freeway) near Encanto Boulevard for the leak before 5:30 a.m. and said the leak was secured around 5:40 p.m.

The department was returning operations to management.

Cypress Street just south of the dairy was closed between the southbound I-17 access road and 27th Avenue while firefighters worked to get it under control. Traffic on I-17 and the access road was not affected.

The leak was isolated to one building.
