Man hospitalized in extremely critical condition after Phoenix house fire

A man was critically injured Thursday in an early-morning Phoenix house fire near 91st Avenue and Osborn Road.

PHOENIX – A man was critically injured Thursday in an early-morning Phoenix house fire, authorities said.

Crews were dispatched to a home in the area of 91st Avenue and Osborn Road around 2 a.m. and encountered heavy smoke and flames, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

As firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze, they found a man inside and carried him out the back of the house. He was then taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition.

Three other occupants evacuated from the Phoenix house fire on their own and were evaluated by crews. One of the occupants required hospital treatment for minor burn injuries.

The city’s Community Assistance Program responded to the scene to provide support for the people displaced by the fire.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
