Overnight shooting in Phoenix sends teen to hospital

The suspect is still at large, and anyone with information is urged to call the Phoenix Police Department.

A teen was hospitalized after being shot in the early hours of Friday morning, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Officers responded to the scene near 37th and Georgia avenues, north of Camelback Road, shortly before 3 a.m.

The teen, who police said is either 18 or 19, had a gunshot wound to his lower body. He was hospitalized, and his injuries were described as not life-threatening.

Detectives with the Phoenix Police Department’s Violent Crime Bureau have taken over the investigation.

The suspect has not been caught yet.
