MCSO makes arrest in fatal December hit-and-run in Glendale

PHOENIX – A suspect has been arrested in the recent fatal hit-and-run of a bicyclist in Glendale, authorities said.

Alexandra Mendez, 23, was taken into custody Wednesday, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

The Dec. 19 collision near Luke Air Force Base at Northern Avenue and Reems Road involved a blue Ford sedan.

Mendez was booked on one count of leaving the accident with death/injury and one count of manslaughter.

The victim’s name has not been made public.
