PHOENIX —  Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria is hiring for its new location in Surprise.

The popular Chicago-based chain will open a new location near Waddell Road (just off Loop 303) this fall.

A hiring event will be held on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event is open to the public and there are more than 80 open positions. The restaurant is looking for bartenders, servers, cooks and phone staff. Walk-ins will be welcomed, but candidates may also apply online.

Candidates will get the chance to learn about the different positions and meet hiring managers for interviews. Applicants are asked to bring a resume and proof of authorization to work in the United States.

Since the new location is still under construction, the hiring event will be located at the Residence Inn Phoenix located near Bullard Avenue and Bell Road.

Lou Malnati’s is a family-owned company that is growing and expanding in the West Valley,” General Manager of Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria Surprise Stephanie Morgan said in a press release. “The pizzeria is looking for team players with a strong work ethic; we provide paid training, free employee meals, employee benefits and a fun work environment. The brand was recognized as one of Chicago Tribune’s Top 100 Places to Work for 14 years in a row and was voted as a National Top Workplace for the third year in a row. We invite you to join our growing ‘Team Deep Dish’ in Surprise.”

When is Lou Malnati’s new pizza restaurant in Surprise opening?

The new 6,100-square-foot location at the Village at Prasada is scheduled to open in October. It will offer dine-in service for 200 indoor guests and a patio for an additional 75 outdoor guests.

The Phoenix location that opened in 2016 was the first out-of-state location for the pizzeria since it originated in 1971. The chain later opened locations in Arcadia, Scottsdale, Glendale, Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler and Tempe. It now has 80 locations in Chicago, Indianapolis, Milwaukee and Phoenix.

“The Malnati family has become famous for our original deep dish pizza recipe, top-notch quality and hospitality since opening in Chicago in 1971,” Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria owner Marc Malnati said in a release. “We’re excited to continue that tradition and bring the family’s legacy to Surprise. We are passionate about supporting the local communities we serve and can’t wait to share our food, family and hospitality with the Surprise community.”

We want to hear from you.
