Officer who fatally shot wrong man at Glendale park won’t be charged
The Glendale police officer who fatally shot the wrong man earlier this year will not face criminal charges, authorities announced Tuesday.

PHOENIX – The Glendale police officer who fatally shot the wrong man earlier this year will not face criminal charges, authorities announced Tuesday.
After reviewing the case, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office declined to press charges, according to the Glendale Police Department.
Prosecutors concluded “there is no reasonable likelihood of conviction,” according to the Peoria Police Department, which investigated the deadly shooting as part of the West Valley Incident Response Team.
The officer remains on administrative assignment while the Glendale Police Department conducts an internal investigation into the deadly shooting.
If the internal investigation determines departmental procedures were not followed, the officer could be fired or face other disciplinary action.
“The city of Glendale and the Glendale Police Department hold themselves to a high standard, including strictly following policies and procedures, implementing their professional training and upholding the public’s trust,” Jose Miguel Santiago, a Glendale spokesman, said in a press release.
How did Glendale police officer shoot wrong man?
The incident started when police responded to a domestic violence call near 47th and Glendale avenues around 7 p.m. on Jan. 8.
The victim said her ex-boyfriend, 23-year-old Angelo Diaz, threatened her with a gun during an argument over visitation of children they share together.
The suspect’s white pickup truck was spotted next to Horizon Park at 47th and Diana avenues, less than 2 miles north of the initial response site.
Due to the truck’s window tint, officers could not tell if anybody was inside, according to police.
Officers noticed 46-year-old Dillion Siebeck of Tucson in the park and assumed he was the suspect. Siebeck, who was unarmed, allegedly failed to comply with commands before an officer fatally shot him.
After the shooting, officers opened the truck door and found Diaz sitting inside with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He died after being taken to a hospital.

Well, there's body cam footage that was released by the PD linked in this article. Neither of the angles are you able to see the man who was shot. It's true that I don't know what cops go through, but I also don't know what the person who was shot has been through. But I do know only one of them is in that situation by choice and is supposed to be trained on how to handle it.
It's really not obvious to you who the victim in this story is? Could it be Dillion Siebeck, the 46 year old innocent man who was minding his own business and was shot and killed by police because they thought he might be the 23 year old Angelo Diaz who was already dead in his truck a few feet away?
Is it really that hard for you to admit that the cops that shot and killed an innocent person are to blame for his death?
As I said before, no parent wants their child to cook in the car, and they don't go drive home hoping to leave the kid in the back seat. Difference is that when a police officer has a "whoops!" moment and an innocent person dies you're for some reason implying that it's fine and they should still be paid by us to carry a gun into situations like this, while the parent fo the child in the car is probably going to jail.
