PHOENIX — Three people were injured in north Phoenix after a single-vehicle collision into the Valley Metro light rail on Friday afternoon, authorities said.
Police responded to the area of Central and Highland avenues around noon for reports of a crash, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
Upon arrival, police found two passengers and the driver with “non-life-threatening” injuries. The Phoenix Fire Department took all three individuals to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Factors in the crash such as impairment are not known at this time.
Collision details are part of the ongoing investigation.
Police added the light rail service in the area is back to normal operations after a brief stoppage.
