Eastbound Interstate 10 reopens after deadly crash in West Valley

PHOENIX — One person was killed in a collision that caused a semitruck to roll over and block traffic on Interstate 10 in the West Valley on Friday, Feb. 20, authorities said.

A passenger vehicle crossed all lanes of traffic and struck the truck on eastbound I-10 at Palo Verde Road in Buckeye, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The driver of the passenger vehicle died in the collision.

The Arizona Department of Transportation said eastbound I-10 was reopened at milepost 108, north of the Buckeye Municipal Airport, around 3:40 p.m. after the area was closed after 11 a.m.

Images from news helicopters at the scene showed the semitruck with an Amazon Prime logo on the trailer lying on its side.
